Dude – do you realise that this is actually where the high-heel shoe comes from? I once heard an interview with a guy who’d written a book about it – they came out of the Himalayas (or somewhere else rather steep) where the goat herders wore them. They were traded down the silk road and by the time they made it half-way around the world to Europe they were almost priceless, and so only the richest merchants would wear them.
When and why they made the switch to the women-folk I’m not sure, but perhaps it’s got something to do with guys not putting up with such uncomforatble footwear…
Anyway, ingenious…
