we used to do this when I was a kid – there was a sweetshop in town and the pavement outside would go soft in the summer, so we’d buy a small bottle of pop, open it, and stamp the bottletop into the tarmac. There must have been 1000’s of bottlecaps embedded in the pavement…
You do realise the ‘gum stuff’ on the pavements in designobserver.com is actually mold don’t you?
